Settling In, a REAL Emmy and Columbus Circle

Our first night in New York City was terrific!

We had an amazing dinner at Joe G's.  The restaurant recommended by our doorman, was very dark and located in a basement.  Kid friendly, the spaghetti and meatballs were super and the Cappuccino's were the best we've ever had.  Shannon said they were even better then the cappuccino's she had in Italy!

After dinner we walked to Whole Foods in the Time Warner Center.  While riding the elevator up to the grocery store, a women from Goodmorning America stepped onto our elevator holding an EMMY!!!  I looked at her and said "Is that a real Emmy?"  She said "It sure is, I work for Goodmorning America and we just won it."  She then asked if we would like to touch it, which we did...  Only in New York!

After loading up on groceries, as we were getting ready to exit the Time Warner Center, we heard a group of people laughing and giggling.  Of course, Shannon and I turned around to see what they were laughing at.  This is what we saw....

Gracie and the famous naked man sculpture by Fernando Botero.  Apparently, the private part of this poor guy has actually changed color from so many people touching it....  Can't say that I'm thrilled that my daughter is one of those people, we don't get out much.

After removing my daughter from the sculpture, we walked across the street, let the kids play around the Columbus Circle Monument and enjoyed the sights and sounds of this awesome city.

Sweet Nathan

Gracie loved the fountains around the monument.  She threw in pennies and wished for pony's.

The kids climbed the steps and jumped over and over and over again.
