Carousel Ride and a Fake Statue of Liberty

Woke up this morning with two goals... ride the Central Park Carousel and go to the American Museum of Natural History.  We did both and it was another great day.

The kids were ready to go!  They couldn't wait to get out the door.

While walking to the carousel we passed Heckscher Ballfields.  Nate insisted that we stop, take a break and watch the games for a while.

On our first visit to Central Park in 2003, the Central Park Carousel was the very first carousel Gracie ever rode.  The carousel features the largest hand painted, hand carved figures ever constructed.  The horses are 3/4 the size of an actual horse.

We rode the carousel three times, each time on different horses.  The carousel music is played on a Ruth Sohn Ban Organ that playes Wurlitzer music rolls.

We ran into the fake Statue of Liberty on our way to the museum...  It was fun but Grace said that it was no substitute for the real thing.
