Zoo

Last nights storm brought cooler weather.  With a forcasted high of only 95 degrees, I decided to pack up the kids and make a rare mid-summer trip to the Phoenix Zoo.  The weather was great and the kids were super.

A few of our favorite girls joined us today.... the twins and their big sis.

The first stop of the day... the koi fish pond.

The kids stood still in the butterfly garden for the longest time, waiting for the butterflies to land on them.  Only one butterfly made a landing... right on Sophie's behind.

Next stop, the gift shop to buy umbrellas, (the rain never came but now we have some really cute umbrellas).  Here's Gracie trying on the bat mask.

The girls took a camel ride on "Abu".

Nate didn't want to ride Abu, but he gave him a kiss and a hug.

We took a train ride around the zoo to see all of the animals...

said "hello" to the elephants...

chased the ducks...

made mud balls and had a mud fight...

made mud pies...

crawled through tunnels...

and finally, said goodbye to an amazing day at the zoo with a carousel ride.  Gracie rode a dolphin and Nathan picked a shark.

It was a joy-filled day!

I love the pictures of the girls in their bathing suits and tennis shoes.
