Memory Making Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Growing up, both of my Grandfathers owned hand crank ice cream freezers. Cranking the freezers with my Grandpas, and tasting the yummy treat right off of the paddles is one of my favorite childhood memories.

For Christmas this past year, the kids and I gave Donnie this White Mountain Crank Ice Cream Freezer.  The freezer is exactly the same model that belonged to my Grandfather's.  Today was our first time to try it out.  We made my families "famous" recipe for vanilla ice cream.  It turned out perfect, and all of us had fun cranking the freezer and eating the delicious ice cream!  Thank you, MeMaw and Papa UB for sharing the recipe with us!!!
